Giveaway: Philadelphia Freedoms - Tennis Fun for the Whole Family

July 1, 2015
The Philadelphia Freedoms compete in Mylan World Team Tennis, where each team is comprised of two men, two women and a coach. Players are current and former professional tennis stars, and at the conclusion of Wimbledon, WTT will take center stage for the summer.

The current Freedoms include Robby Ginepri and Marcelo Melo, and Taylor Townsend. Asia Muhammad, Abigail Spears and Coco Vandeweghe will take turns competing as the fourth player. Josh Cohen is the team's head coach.

Vandeweghe recently advanced to the round of 32 at Wimbledon, while Spears is competing in the second round for doubles. Melo won his first Grand Slam doubles title at the 2015 French Open.

The Freedoms will play seven home contests at Villanova University's Pavilion, with the first one on Sunday, July 12. There are various theme nights, including a celebration for mascot Nettie King’s Birthday/Family Night on Friday, July 17 where there will be free birthday cake and the first 250 kids will receive a Wilson kid-size racquet. You can view the full schedule and promotions on their website.
