Review from the Road: Lewes and Rehoboth in Delaware

July 27, 2016

There are still a few great weeks of summer left, and if you're looking for ideas for a quick weekend getaway, let me suggest Lewes/Rehoboth in Delaware!

About a 4-hour drive from our area, it's an easy drive for families and offers a wide variety of fun things to do. Here are some of our favorites. Do you have a place you love down in Delaware? Leave us a comment below!

Cape Henlopen State Park

Less crowded than going into Rehoboth, Cape Henlopen has a great beach and is just a short drive away. With just a $10 vehicle fee for the day, you can take the bikes and enjoy the terrific bike paths and then cool off with a swim. There is also a small nature center where your Mini Macaronis can learn more about area wildlife and enjoy a touch tank.

Shell We Golf

One of the more popular attractions in the area, Shell We Golf is located at the Sea Shell Shop along Route 1. With themed holes talking about treasure, pirates, and other beach-going fun, your family is sure to enjoy a night of mini golf here. They even have fun straw hats you can choose to wear while you play. After your game, enjoy an ice cream or step inside the gift shop for delicious homemade fudge.

Summer House

Fresh sandwiches and salads, steaks and seafood, a variety of drinks, and a fun atmosphere are what you will find at Summer House in Rehoboth. Our Mini Macaronis loved that they served the kids meal on frisbees that they could keep!

Rehoboth Boardwalk

The Rehoboth Boardwalk offers food, games, rides, and a terrific way to spend a night of vacation!
