SPLAT- A Family Art Studio™ is excited to release its fall art programming following a summer where our studio was filled with happy and engaged kids enjoying a variety of art making experiences.

We are delighted to announce that we will again offer our popular programming, The Art of Reading™, for kids age 2 through 12. In this once-a-month-class, we utilize children’s picture books as the catalyst for our art making adventures. Many families enjoy this creative time as a means to make something artful while spending quality together time in an organized environment that caters to learning. Best of all, parents and grandparents alike, tell us that they appreciate that the cleanup is on us!

For kids and teens ages 6 to 16, we offer more options for learning art skills that are focused on engaging participants in hands-on experiences. The 4-Week Classes offer kids and teens a selection of projects and art media to choose from and the class meets once a week for 4 consecutive classes for participants to complete their work.

If your kid or teen desires a more in-depth creative making class, the 10-Week Classes may be a good fit. Over the course of 10 weeks we are immersed in making art. We are also working to gain exposure to the world of art in our community through visits with guest artists, field trips outside the studio and a student art exhibition held at MJ’s Coffeehouse.

Last winter, we launched our Second Saturday at SPLAT™ as a way to engage the whole family in a day of art making. Enthusiastically we have expanded our art making offerings: papermaking, painting, collage and ceramics are just a few media choices we will work with this fall. The day begins by offering families a time to gather and create forever memories while creating collaboratively on a work of art that will serve as keepsakes for the family to enjoy for years to come.

We wrap up our Second Saturday at SPLAT™ festivities with an adults only opportunity. This is a time to set aside to unwind and enjoy making art with your friends. In this not so serious class (no previous art skill needed) participants will be exposed to a vast array of art media and processes. Following the 2 hour class, everyone will leave with a completed project. Additionally, to add to the festive spirit, you are welcome to bring and enjoy your favorite snack and adult beverage.

Coming in November, SPLAT™ will host a unique family offering. For your family of 4 participants, you can schedule a two-hour Saturday session with our potter, Mr. Bob. Each participant will have the opportunity to throw on a potter’s wheel and glaze their piece of pottery. Scheduling for this program is very limited, so if interested, please register early.

At SPLAT™ we specialize in bringing groups together to make-and-take an art project. Whether you are looking to host a party or private group class, give us a call and we will help you decide on the appropriate media choice, length of class time and confirm your date.
