Community Sets Fundraisers to Support Myerstown Family

September 24, 2014
Seven-year-old Natalie knew her friend Cristian and his family were hurt in a crash. She told her mom Amber that she wanted to help her friend that she has gone to school with since kindergarten, rode on the bus with and cheered for on the Myerstown Panther Pee Wee football team.

"I asked her how and she said by selling stuff," said Amber. "So after she went to school Tuesday, I started planning and everything has fallen into place since then."

What has come together since then has been a tremendous outpouring of support for the Nadal/Arnold family of Myerstown -- Dave Arnold, Amarylis Nadal and children Marissa and Cristian Nadal and Alaina Arnold.

This Sunday, there will be a community bake sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Smith's Candies along Route 422 in Myerstown. Donations of baked items are being accepted from anyone who wishes to help, or stop by and purchase items to show your support. You can find the event on facebook here.

In addition to the bake sale, there will also be a gift basket raffle, a stand from Please N Thank You Boutique, and a t-shirt and Myerstown football decal fundraiser at Smith's on Sunday. For more details on the t-shirts, you can visit that facebook event here.

If you're not going to be in the Myerstown area this weekend, there are two online donation sites that have been established http://www.gofundme.com/ekvf00 and http://www.gofundme.com/ejfu18, and the Lebanon Daily News has also explained the details of a fund established at M&T Bank.
