MOMS Vendor Fair All About Helping Others

October 29, 2014
The MOMS Club of Derry Township is preparing for its 2nd annual Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair. Proceeds from the event are used to provide holiday meals and gifts to a local family in need. New this year is the opportunity to pack a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child.

The MOMS Club event will be on Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 6-9 p.m. at the Palmyra Brethren in Christ Church, located at 220 Campbelltown Road in Palmyra. The group works with Love INC. to identify the local family who will benefit from the event.

Kindermusik with Kristen Miller, Barefoot Books, Thirty-One Gifts, Miche and Mary Kay are just some of the vendors you will be able to visit. There will also be handmade gifts from local artisans. If you are interested in joining them as a vendor, please email Melinda at curran.melinda@gmail.com.

The event will include a raffle with terrific prizes and a bake sale.

In the spirit of giving, there will also be a table at the fair featuring Operation Christmas Child which encourages families to pack a shoebox of basic supplies and toys for a child in need around the world. OCC is a program run by Samaritan's Purse. This is a terrific way to teach your own child about giving to others during the holiday season.

Suggestions on what to pack in the shoebox include small toys such as stuffed animals and yo-yos; school supplies such as crayons, pencils and stickers; personal items like toothbrushes and a comb; and a personal note. You can see a full list of suggestions, as well as what not to include, on their website.

Completed boxes can be dropped off at the fair, or you can pick up a box to pack and then return it to an area drop-off location.
