Meet a Macaroni Mom: Sandi Smith

Sandi Shares the Story of Sandi's Breads

September 11, 2013
Like many people who are good at what they do, Sandi Smith is no exception – she loves what she does.

She grew up helping her mom bake and now finds her way into the homes of many Lebanon County residents through her delicious creations at Sandi's Breads in Palmyra. Her stand can be found at the Farmstead Market on Laudermilch Road in Palmyra.

"I was raised baking at my mom's knee and tasting and smelling all the spices," Sandi said. "We cooked together and I always had a chair up next to the counter to help. As I got older, I baked for my family for different occasions, including a time baking breads for them while I was in college."

Between 1990 and 1998, Sandi and her husband Tom had four children of their own and Sandi's baking continued with a focus on nutrition. In 2006, her husband was downsized and they started looking for an adventure, naturally settling on a bakery.

In addition to a variety of artisan breads, Sandi's Breads features a wide selection of muffins, cakes and other sweet treats. They are also well known for their Grab-A-Nola, in original Chocolate-Peanut Butter, Orange-Cranberry and Apple-Cinnamon. Gift cards and boxes are also available and special requests can be made.

"We are blessed to have each other, our commitment to our family and our business, and our wonderful customers that make all the hard work worthwhile," Sandi said. "We are also able to maintain the quality of our product line as we see fit, something that also makes us feel very fortunate."

Sandi and Tom reside in Palmyra with their children Greyson, 20, Sarandon 17, Liana 15 and Maya 15.
