Review: Mabel's Labels

Keep School Items Safe From Lost And Found

September 11, 2013
School has started and some cooler temperatures will soon be heading our way -- although it sure doesn't feel that way today! In just a few weeks, it will be time for your kids to grab the fleece, hoodie or jacket for those chilly mornings at the bus stop.

Since my Mini Macaroni just started kindergarten and tends to be a little forgetful (he almost left his backpack on the bus on just his second day!), I knew this would be the year where I'd really need to start labeling his stuff.

I turned to Mabel's Labels, a company that I have always heard great things about from other parents. They make a wide variety of types of labels for large items like backpacks and lunchboxes all the way down to small things like pencils and crayons.

On their website, I clicked right to the Combo Packs realizing that a broader selection of items would be a fantastic way to get started. I settled on the Ultimate Back-to-School Combo which included: Skinny-Minis, Tag Mates, Teeny Tags and Shoe Labels.

The Skinny-Minis are for those small items and are just a simple peel and stick label.

The Tag Mates are also peel and stick - and are designed to be used on the care labels of your Mini Macaroni's clothing. Perfect for those jackets and still in a discreet place, but it's a great idea to teach your kids where to look for their name in case one of their friends has the same one!

The Teeny Tags are small metal keychains that fit perfectly on the zipper of a backpack or lunchbox!

The Shoe Labels I haven't tried yet, but I know when I'll need those -- winter, when the snow boots are a must for those slushy, snowy mornings. These would also be great if you have older Macaronis who participate in sports and carry their cleats or sneakers with them.

What's great about their products is that they are durable - safe for the dishwasher and microwave, and washer and dryer!

I also love that you can custom design your labels. Once you decide which type of labels you want, you can choose the name that displays, the color scheme and even an icon. I opted for football now for the fall for my sports-obsessed kid!

What I selected is just a small glimpse of what you can choose. They even have labels for around the house... anyone need some kitchen organization?!? You can view their full range of products on their website at www.MabelsLabels.com. They also offer fundraising opportunities, too.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary Ultimate Back-to-School Combo to facilitate this review. However, all opinions expressed are my own.
