The 4th Annual Matchbox Toy Show at the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Museum is the perfect event for the kid in everyone! The Diecast Toy Exchange is again hosting a Matchbox Collector's show on Sunday, September 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event will allow visitors the opportunity to begin collecting Matchbox or adding to their Matchbox collection. Vendors will be selling matchbox cars that were produced from the early 1950's all the way through to present day releases. To support this event, the AACA Museum is offering $5.00 admission (more than half off the regular admission price) to encourage everyone to attend this one-day show.
First time visitors to the AACA Museum will be able to enjoy dozens of full size antique cars, buses and motorcycles from the 1890s through the 1980s. Special exhibits include Indian Nation: Indian Motorcycles in America Exhibit along with Mark Watts Reflections art exhibit. Visitors will be able to get a special sneak preview of our 100 Years of Dodge exhibit slated to open on September 26 as several of these vehicles will be on display.
The Matchbox Toy Show is a top notch collector's event, the largest in the country, where you are sure to see some rare collectibles from many of the best Matchbox dealers. Highlights for sale this year include a very rare Matchbox Moko Queen's Coronation Coach from 1952 with both the king and queen present in the coach - estimated value $900. Maybe a 1960s era Matchbox color trial #22 Pontiac and #23 trailer are more your style; this one-of-a-kind set is valued at $10,000 since it was never produced in this mint green color. More than just cars, a 1953 "Muffin the Mule" metal puppet figure will also be for sale valued at $150, plus much more! Over 80 tables for your collecting enjoyment.
Just getting started with your collection? Not to worry, there are many great pieces just for you including two limited edition collectible Matchbox special show vehicles that you can only get here at the show! A 1992 Dodge Viper to help celebrate "100 Years of Dodge" this year and a Convoy Truck will be available for purchase as long as supplies last. There will be a total of 60 of the Vipers at a price of $12 each and only 40 of the Convoy trucks priced at $30 each.
Can't make the toy show? Keep an eye out for some of these upcoming fall events.
