One of the newest companies in direct sales is Noonday, and for Jennifer Stutzman, it's the perfect fit. The local Lebanon mom, and mother of two daughters, loves to volunteer and make a difference.
Last year, Jennifer spent about six months volunteering at the Hopes Resource Center in Lebanon, answering phones, welcoming vistitors and helping families. As the daytime center for homeless families in our area, she was amazed by the number of people she met.
"It just stuck with me how hard it is to break the cycle of poverty. For some, it's all they've ever known and it takes a lot of work and education to end," she said.
Jennifer, who works part-time as a Nuclear Medicine technologist, said Noonday gives her the perfect balance between earning more income yet still having time for her family and other volunteer duties, including at her daughters' school.
Noonday's beautiful jewelry and other gifts are made by artisans from all over the world who partner with the company to sell their creations. The artisans meet with Noonday, discuss design ideas and form their partnership.
"I love knowing that every purchase has a purpose - providing the ever-so important education to their children, healthcare or just enabling their family to stay together. One woman was ready to give her children up for adoption because she just couldn't afford to keep them - then she found Noonday. There are numerous impact stories on their website like this. I just thought if I can be a part of ending someone's cycle of poverty, keeping families together or helping to fund adoptions in necessary cases, then I'm in," said Jennifer.
