United Way Stuff the Bus Returns

Volunteers Needed to Man the Buses

By United Way of Lebanon County July 19, 2017

United Way of Lebanon County is preparing to launch its 9th annual “Stuff the Bus” school supply collection in partnership with the Salvation Army. Buses will be located outside a number of retail locations around Lebanon County to round up donated school supplies for local kids.

Last July, more than 8,000 school item donations – including 819 backpacks – were collected and delivered to local children across Lebanon County.

This year, United Way is further expanding the program. In addition to collecting supplies for kids of all ages in need across the county, they will be providing every 1st grader in Lebanon County with a “Success Kit,” filled with supplies and resources for students and their parents. Preparedness for school is directly connected to children’s success, and United Way needs your help to prepare every child in Lebanon County to succeed.

Items will be collected at the following Lebanon County businesses between Monday, July 24, and Sunday, July 30, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day:
Walmart – 1355 E. Lehman St., Lebanon
Walmart – 100 N. Londonderry Sq., Palmyra
Kohl’s – 1261 Quentin Rd., Lebanon
JBT – 1725 Rt. 72 N., Lebanon

The United Way is also in need of volunteers to man the buses at the various locations. Two-hour shifts are available by signing up on their website.

You can also contribute to Stuff the Bus by making a monetary donation to sponsor a child, children, or a classroom.
