Gretna Glen Prepares for Annual Gretna Gritty Mud Run

By Sponsored Advertising Content April 10, 2019

Here at Gretna Glen Camp & Retreat Center momentum is building for the 7th Annual Gretna Gritty Mud Run! On Saturday, May 11, our flagship fundraiser will boast 22+ obstacles over 3 miles in Gretna Glen’s unique mountainous terrain.

The Gritty boasts everything from fire pits and rope swings to mud pits and cargo climbs will all be a part of the fun, with tons of mud in between. We’ve even been called the “Hometown Hero of Obstacle Course Races”. Paired with the beautiful site and fun obstacles, we have the best volunteers around who cheer on every runner through the 3 miles of fun.

This year we are again anticipating record numbers for the Gritty – registrations are coming in fast and we are limited to 1000 runners. There is something for everyone at the Gritty with non-competitive, and competitive heats so you can walk, run, sprint, mozy, or crawl – it’s up to you!

Along with the Gretna Gritty, it’s the six  year for the Nitty Gritty kids' fun run with mud and obstacles built just for them. The Nitty Gritty is designed for kids aged 5-11.

The goal of the event is to raise $50,000 for our non-profit Gretna Glen Camp & Retreat Center. If volunteering is more up your alley, we need 125 volunteers to help make this day happen.

One of the reasons we love the Gritty so much, is that it gives us an opportunity to see so many people from our community in our awesome outdoor environment enjoying time together and making great memories. With the cooperation of local law enforcement, fire departments, ambulance companies, church congregations, and local businesses, we are proud of the community event that the Gretna Gritty has become.
