Lebanon County Head Start Now Enrolling

April 30, 2021

Lebanon County Head Start is a comprehensive preschool program for three- and four-year-old children and their families. It is designed to strengthen and encourage early literacy, social development, resourcefulness, and self-sufficiency through positive learning experiences. In Lebanon County, IU13 partners with the six school districts to provide young children with the school readiness skills they need to succeed in kindergarten.

Children must be three years old by September 1 of the current year to qualify for Head Start. To be eligible for the program, a family must qualify for eligibility according to the Federal Poverty Guidelines. These programs are free to eligible families.

The goal of our Lebanon Early Childhood Program is to help make sure your child is ready for success in kindergarten. All teachers follow a daily schedule and classroom routines where learning begins at the start of the school day. A consistent routine helps children feel safe, secure, and comfortable in the school environment. Each classroom has a daily schedule posted. A typical daily schedule looks like this:

  • Arrival
  • Breakfast
  • Toothbrushing
  • Circle Time/ Large Group Time
  • Outdoors/Gross Motor Activities
  • Small-Group Time
  • Center/Work Time
  • Lunch
  • Rest Time
  • Small-Group Time
  • Outdoor Time
  • Snack
  • Ending Circle
