What to Watch For You and the Family This Spring

May 5, 2021

We know we've had some amazing weather recently and have been enjoying time outside. But if you get a rainy day or need something to occupy the kids while you make dinner or something for you to watch before bed, we're back with some suggestions.

We'd love to hear from you with more favorites for us to share next time! Email us at alisonw@macaronikid.com or drop us a message via Facebook.

For the Kids & Family
Note that my kids are 11 and 12, so I encourage you to check ratings of shows for your own family.

Netflix - Scrolling through the queue, my daughter and I discovered the musical A Week Away that we really enjoyed. My kids were also excited to see a new season of Carmen Sandiego was released. Yes Day is another fun movie for the family.

Disney+ - My son's newest favorites are Big Shot (a basketball show starring John Stamos) and Mighty Ducks Game Changers. We also watched Safety that had a great family message to it. I've also heard great things about Raya and the Last Dragon, so that's on our to-watch list.

Peacock - My daughter and I went back in time and watched the old Saved by the Bell episodes, and we also discovered how much we enjoy the Punky Brewster remake (I had no idea Freddie Prinze Jr stars in it!).

For the Adults

Netflix - I've been enjoying comedies that I never caught the first time around. I finished Jane the Virgin and am working my way through New Girl that provides laugh-out-loud moments on the regular and the short episodes are perfect for when I don't have a lot of time. For a change of pace, check out Behind Her Eyes, a psychological thriller based on a book by the same title.

Hulu - Umm... the new season of The Handmaid's Tale is out. Have you watched it yet?

Apple TV - My husband just caught on to Ted Lasso. What else do you like on here? This is one we haven't explored much yet!

HBO - If you're into history, my husband has also been enjoying the John Adams miniseries.
