Library Kicks Off New Campaign With Story Time on May 30

Richland Community Library is kicking off an early childhood reading program to help parents prepare children for one of life’s big milestones: kindergarten. The “1000 Books B4K” program will be introduced during a special story time and explanation session at 11:15 a.m. on May 30.

Local businesses and community organizations are partnering with the library to challenge families to share 1,000 books with their children before they begin elementary school.

Your local library is inviting you to Dig Into Reading this summer! Each library will host FREE weekly family programming inviting you to dig into dinosaurs, history and more.

As part of Dig Into Reading, kids are invited to register for the summer reading program! Each child will receive a folder to record the books they read this summer and other activities. Many of the libraries host a special party at the end of the summer for children who complete the program.

The Lebanon County Ambulance Association is hosting its annual EMS Week event and it includes plenty of activities and fun for kids! Andy the interactive ambulance will be visiting with kids and other interactive displays will also be featured. Kids can also tour the Life Lion helicopter, ambulances and other specialty units then take home a coloring book and crayons.

Saturday, May 25 - 23rd Annual Annville Memorial Day Parade

The 23rd Annual Annville Memorial Day Parade recognizes real heroes and honors all Veterans with a special emphasis this year on the Lebanon VA Medical Center. The parade has a little bit of everything from a flyover to start off the parade to bands, dignitaries, church groups, scout troops, fire trucks, floats, valedictorians, sports groups and much more. Put your picnic on hold and bring your children out for this 2.5 hour parade followed by a 20-30 min. Memorial Service.
Where: Begins on Rt. 422 at Hoss's Restaurant in Annville & heads West with a right on College Ave. and then a right on Maple St where it ends right past Long & Maple Streets.

Richland Library is kicking off a new program called 1000 Books B4K with a special storytime today. Children and their parents can sign up for the new program at the library. All registered participants

Children will receive a prize after reading 100 books with their parents. After reading 500 books,
children can choose a paperback book to keep. When parents and children log 1,000 books, they
achieve status on the library Wall of Fame and receive a special gift.

Michaels has introduced a new Kids Club with special activities designed just for your Mini Macaronis! Today's class celebrates national drawing day. Classes are offered every 30 minutes on the half hour.

Sunday, June 2 - Reading Fightin Phils Kids Club Game vs. Akron Aeros

Members of the Redner's Fightin Phils Kids Club are invited to throw out an honorary first pitch. Giveaways include a Fightin Phils Socker Boppers. A grandparent/grandchild tribute with on-field ceremony is also planned.

Membership in the Kids Club is free and members enjoy other special benefits throughout the year.
