Summer Reading Programs Coming to Lebanon County Libraries

On Your Mark, Get Set, Read! at your local Lebanon County Library this summer. Each of the six county libraries will host FREE weekly family programming invite you to join them on a summer of fun!

Your Mini Macaronis from preschoolers through teens are invited to register for the summer reading program! Each child will receive a folder to record the books they read this summer and other activities. Many of the libraries host a special party at the end of the summer for children who complete the program.

Along with special summer programming, many of the libraries are hosting regular storytimes. Please visit the link for your local library below for their full summer schedule. Finally, many of the libraries are also running a 1000 Books B4 Kindergarten program, stop in and ask about it!

Annville Free Library

Summer reading program for age 3 through grade 6. Registration begins June 6. FREE family programs will be held on Mondays at 2 p.m. beginning June 13. 

The Youth Room (grades 4-8) will host FREE weekly programs on Tuesdays at 2 p.m.

Preschool storytimes will be offered Tuesday or Thursday at 10:15 a.m. for ages 2.5-5. Storytime is free, but registration is required.

Lebanon Community Library

Summer reading program for ages 2-12. Registration begins June 6. FREE weekly programs on Tuesdays, beginning June 14.

The library will host a summer storytime on Thursdays at 10 a.m. starting June 16 and running through July 28.

Matthews Public Library

FREE weekly programs will be held Tuesday afternoons at 2 p.m. starting June 14. Registration is not required. 

The library is also offering a program for students in grades 3 through 12. Weekly fun will be held on Thursdays at 1 p.m. starting July 7.

The library offers Story Time for toddlers and preschoolers every Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. all year long. Story Time includes stories, songs, finger plays and a craft. Polka Dot City Puppet Theater is presented the first Wednesday of each month. No registration is required.


Myerstown Community Library

FREE weekly programs on Wednesdays at 6 p.m. beginning June 22. Registration for the summer reading program begins June 13.

The library will host a storytime on Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. for ages 4-10 that will include a story and craft. 


Palmyra Public Library

Weekly FREE family programs are held Mondays at 11 a.m. and are open for kids age 2 through fifth grade. 

The library also offers teen programming for students in grades 5 through 9. The program includes weekly activities on Tuesdays.

Registration for both programs begins June 6. In addition, the library also will host a five-week summer storytime. Registration is required.


Richland Community Library

Weekly FREE family programs are held Thursdays at 11 a.m. and are designed for kids age 3-10. Registration runs June 1-22.

A variety of teen programs will also be offered. Ask the library staff about the new Pause2Read program for kids in grades 3 through 8.
