Special Back to School Treat

Reward Your Kids For a Good Day at School!

By Arlene Booth, Pampered Chef August 22, 2012
We're sticking with our Back to School theme for this week's recipe. Here's a special snack that you can make as a reward for a great first day of school!

Chocolate-Dipped Confetti Cones

You will need:

  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup sprinkles or small candy decorations
  • 6 waffle cones
  • 12 scoops any flavor ice cream
Directions:

1. Put the chocolate chips in a Glass Batter Bowl. With adult help: Microwave uncovered for 30 seconds. Stir until the chocolate is melted & smooth. If the chocolate is not completely melted, microwave it for 30 more seconds.

2. Put the sprinkles or candy decorations on a small plate. To make each cone, carefully tip the batter bowl toward you so that the chocolate pools into the bowl. Dip the top part of the cone into the mixture. Gently shake the cone to let the extra chocolate drip off.

3. Roll the chocolate-covered end of the cone into the sprinkles. Put the cone chocolate-side up into a shallow glass so that the chocolate can harden for a couple of minutes. Dip the rest of the cones.

4. Fill each cone with 2 scoops of your favorite ice cream. Enjoy!

Helpful Hint: If you put the cones into the freezer for 5-10 minutes, they will be ready when its time for dessert. It's a fun snack activity - and also great for birthday parties - for the kids to enjoy their own creations at dessert time.
