January 28, 2015
Jonestown Borough and the Northern Lebanon Recreation and Parks Commission invites your family for a day of winter fun this Saturday, Jan. 31.

Jonestown is hosting a tribute to Punxsutawney Phil in the Jonestown Square beginning at 8:30 a.m. Hear J.T. the Groundhog (Phil’s cousin) give his prognostication and take the Groundhog Oath!

After the outdoor fun, families are invited to an indoor carnival at the Jonestown Elementary school from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Admission is FREE and there will be a variety of FREE activities organized by community groups including: Living Christ Family Center will be making bracelets, St. John’s UCC Jonestown with a Messy Craft promo, Jonestown Lions Club with the Dime Pitch, and Miller Insurance with a groundhog snack. Bob's Critters will be on hand with a selection of reptiles to see and touch.

Some activities will have a minimal cost including: sand art, face painting, tattoos, balloon animals, duck pond, photo booth, and the Lolli-pot. Popcorn, breakfast refreshments and drinks will be available for purchase.

All proceeds from the event benefit NLRec special events.

Families are encouraged to enter the school property through the playground gate at King Street, then use the glass playground doors to enter the school building. Please bring a non-perishable food item for the JOY Food Pantry if you are able.
